Park Springs Marketers Receive 3 OBIE Awards

Each year the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association's Sales and Marketing Council recognizes outstanding achievement in building, sales, and marketing for the North Georgia real estate industry. The Georgia-based marketing firm of Gilbert & Sheppard Group was acknowledged for successful results and creativity in both traditional and non-traditional advertising work for Park Springs. Company principals Kerrie Gilbert and Betsy Sheppard were presented awards for Best Direct Mail Campaign (Gold), Best Print Ad (Silver), and Best Advertising Campaign (Silver).

Andrew Isakson to appear on the commercial Real Estate Show, Assited Living and Senior Housing

Andrew (Andy) Isakson of Isakson Living, developer of Park Springs and Peachtree Hills Place, Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC) located in Atlanta, has been asked to appear on the Commercial Real Estate Show focused on Assisted Living and Senior Housing. The taped broadcast will air nationally online at www.CREshow.com and on air at biz1190 in Atlanta Saturday, April 23 at 10:00 AM. Discussion points will include the different types of senior housing, as well as market trends and what people need to know about this industry.

Stalled project keeps support

Atlanta Senior Housing Summit

When developers unveiled the Peachtree Hills Place project in 2005, plans for the 23-acre community for older homebuyers called for mid-rise buildings and single-family homes, a clubhouse with a dining room, a fitness center, a spa and a library.

Then the recession hit. The developer, Isakson Living, couldn't find enough buyers. In May, the developer put the project on hold. Prior to the suspension, the company had sold just half of the homes needed to begin construction.

French game grows with support from developer

A summertime trip to the Gulf Coast eight years ago changed Andy Isakson's sporting life. The managing partner of Isakson Living - the owners and operators of retirement communities across metro Atlanta - crossed paths with a Frenchman who introduced him to the game of petanque, a game akin to horse shoes or bocce.
"This man started a game in the community, and we played in the morning and again in the evening," Isakson said. "I got hooked on it, mostly because it's a really social game. While one person is throwing, the rest are standing around watching. There's a lot of camaraderie and conversation. Some people have even been known to have a cocktail while they play."
